Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs officials report this afternoon a single case of an employee who tested positive for COVID-19 at the Illinois Veterans’ Home at Manteno (IVHM).
“The employee has been on leave all week and was not at work at the time of the positive result. The locations in which they worked have already been cleaned several times. Team IVHM is thankful to say that, to date, there continue to be no positive cases in any residents,” said Evan Fazio with the Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs Saturday.
IVHM officials are reaching out to those who may have come in contact with the employee who tested positive. IVHM continues to maintain rigorous protective measures, including health screenings of staff and residents, maintaining safe social distancing practices, and intensified cleaning and disinfection protocols. Residents at the Veterans Home are encouraged to stay in their rooms to minimize movement within the facility.
“Our military veterans and the wonderful home staff at Manteno are strong and resilient people. With the continued support of this community, everybody will get through this unprecedented time together,” Fazio said.
Last week, a single case of COVID-19 was reported among employees working at the Prince Home, a standalone facility that supports the Illinois Veterans’ Home at Manteno (IVHM).
