Glen Ellyn High School Student, 17, Arrested After Second Bomb Threat

GLEN ELLYN, IL – A Glenbard West High School student has been arrested following a bomb threat at the school on May 3rd, the second in just days. 

According to Glen Ellyn Police, a suspect was quickly identified and taken into custody without incident Wednesday evening. 

Police identified the suspect as an unnamed 17-year-old student has been charged with two counts of felony Disorderly Conduct and transported to the Kane County Juvenile Detention Center. 

“I am extremely pleased that our team was able to quickly identify the suspect,” said Glen Ellyn Chief Philip Norton in a release Thursday. “We are also very thankful for the assistance and support from State’s Attorney Bob Berlin and his Office.”

The first bomb threat received on April 27, 2023, remains under investigation. The public is encouraged to come forward with any information related to either incident.
