KANKAKEE, Ill. – A shocking video posted on the Ring Neighbors App has captured what has been described by a user as an act of arson, leaving Kankakee residents on edge.
The video, shot overnight on the southeast side of the city around 2:20 a.m. shows a blazing fire on a porch that a user claims was deliberately set in an attempt to kill their family.
The anonymous user expressed concern, stating in the post, “Someone has come to my home 2 nights in a row with the intention of killing my family.” Authorities have not released further details about the incident. Kankakee City Police have yet to comment on the incident.
The video, recorded by a Ring Floodlight Camera, provides a chilling glimpse into the arsonist’s actions. The motive behind the fire and the identity of the perpetrator remain unknown, leaving the community anxiously awaiting updates from law enforcement.
