Fort Lupton, CO – A Weld County man was arrested following an alleged road rage incident near Fort Lupton that led to multiple charges, including DUI and felony criminal mischief.
According to the Weld County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched just before 9:30 p.m. Monday, May 11, to the 4100 block of Meadow Lark Road after reports of a disturbance involving a vehicle.
Investigators say the suspect allegedly threw objects at another vehicle, striking the rear bumper and causing damage estimated between $5,000 and $20,000.
A responding deputy later located a GMC Yukon matching the suspect vehicle description in the area. After observing the vehicle weaving and failing to maintain its lane, the deputy conducted a traffic stop.
Authorities identified the driver as Evan Traxler. According to deputies, signs of impairment were observed during the stop, leading to a DUI investigation.
Traxler was arrested on multiple charges, including possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal mischief, driving under the influence, failure to maintain a lane, possession of open alcohol and marijuana containers in a vehicle, and no proof of insurance.
Officials emphasize that all charges are allegations, and the suspect is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
