Throughout the past year, Lex and his beagle, Rocksy, have attended over forty events throughout Illinois raising funds for his dog’s heart condition by selling rocks, and now is your chance to help them out! During the dinner, there will be silent auction items including celebrity items, bingo and much more!
Economic and Community Development Agency (ECDA) Recovers Approximately $1.5M in Grant Funding
“Having a fully staffed ECDA is already reaping benefits for the City. I have worked very closely with Barbi Brewer-Watson, Executive Director and her team to maximize our grant dollars, recover any funding owed to the City and prioritize our work. As we continue to move Kankakee Forward, we will utilize resources to improve the every day lives of our residents and community. The recovery of funds is a testament to the hard work of the ECDA team and brings great news for the City of Kankakee,” said Mayor Wells-Armstrong.
New Manteno Chamber Logo Encompasses Strength of Community
The Manteno Chamber of Commerce logo was inspired by the Second Street Mural, “Perspective”. The mural itself was created to represent our town from a unique viewpoint. Although the piece is formally abstract, there is a language to the composition that engages participation and investigation. In 2018, community members were invited to take part in the painting as a collaborative effort to promote connection within our community.
City of Kankakee Snow Removal and Parking Notice
Do not clear driveways and sidewalks by throwing snow into the street. This could be a hazard to other drivers. Also, try to yield the right of way and do not pass a snow plow. Always use caution when driving on snow covered streets. The City of Kankakee’s goal is to clear the streets for all residents and do it safely.
Village of Bourbonnais Transforms event plaza into Ice Rink
“We look forward to offering this free and fun activity for residents and visitors every year,” expressed Mayor Paul Schore. “As long as the weather cooperates, bring your skates, bundle up and safely enjoy the outdoors.”
Village Partners with Community on Campus Plan
The survey has been developed to provide community members with an initial opportunity to share their thoughts and opinions on what they would like to see as part of future improvements. It should take approximately ten minutes to complete and will be available for two weeks. There will be additional opportunities through open house events and a second online survey to vote on plan concepts derived from these engagements.
