Los Angeles, CA – The Los Angeles Fire Department has issued a fire weather advisory for parts of California, including the I-5 corridor, Antelope Valley, Central Coast, and southern Santa Barbara County.

According to the US National Weather Service, winds shifting to the north/northwest Friday afternoon will bring gusts of 35 to 50 mph, elevating fire weather conditions. These conditions are expected to persist through Sunday, increasing the risk of wildfires across the region.

The advisory highlights the importance of vigilance during this period. Hot and dry conditions combined with strong winds can cause small fires to spread rapidly. Authorities recommend avoiding outdoor activities that could spark fires, such as barbecuing or using power tools in dry, grassy areas.

Local fire departments are on high alert and have increased staffing to respond quickly to any incidents. Community members are urged to report any signs of wildfires to authorities immediately to ensure prompt action.
