Rep. Parkhurst Hosts Fifth New Bill Roundtable

“This past year, I hosted two roundtables to hear the ideas of the 79th District to make Illinois better. One before the Spring Session and the other before Veto Session. R.A.C.E. Donates More Than $2.2 Million to Chicagoland Charitable Organizations Since its Inception

In 2019, R.A.C.E. donated $33,736 in grants to 22 Chicagoland community organizations. Through work during Chicagoland Speedway’s NASCAR weekend and Route 66 Raceway’s NHRA weekend, $161,556 was donated to 36 local service groups

Kankakee Community College GED Orientations Spring 2020

Classes are designed for students at least 16 years of age who have not completed high school and are not enrolled in the school system. KCC offers the classes as preparation for a high school equivalency exam including the GED and HiSET. The college also offers a GED practice test to current students.

Start 2020 by making a difference for a Child with CASA

CASA of Kankakee County, a program of Child Network, is seeking both male and female volunteers for its upcoming training class that will be held from January 6 – February 7. No special background or education is required to become a CASA. Volunteers from all cultures and professions and of all ethnic and educational backgrounds are welcome. Volunteers must be at least 21 years of age and willing to submit to background checks.

From stocking stuffer to present topper, the festive scratch-offs give players a chance to win up to $1 million. This year, the Illinois Lottery is spreading more good cheer by offering a second-chance drawing on eligible tickets, with $1,500,000 available in prizes.

City of Kankakee Votes to Amend Its Social Media Policy

Effective immediately, all information shared with the public will be posted on the official City of Kankakee’s main Facebook page, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram accounts. All City of Kankakee’s Facebook pages will be consolidated into one in order to continue to effectively communicate with the public.
