Joliet To Host September 11 Memorial Ceremony This September

Joliet, IL – The community will come together on September 11, 2026, to observe the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. A joint memorial ceremony is scheduled to take place at Joliet City Square, located at 91 N. Chicago Street, to honor the lives lost and reflect on the national tragedy.

According to the Will County Fire Chiefs Association and the Police Chiefs Association of Will County, the commemorative event is set to begin at 9:00 a.m. The ceremony is open to the public, and organizers have confirmed that the program will include a 21-gun salute as a mark of respect.

The ceremony serves as a free community event for residents to pay their respects and observe the milestone anniversary alongside local fire and police leadership. There is no cost to attend the morning service.
