(The Center Square) – The Illinois Gaming Board has renewed Hollywood Casino Joliet’s license for four years to 2030.

The casino opened its new land-based facility near Interstates 80 and 55 in August 2025.

In meeting Friday, the IGB also approved new rules regarding the board’s oversight of fantasy contests and adopted amendments to the agency’s Self-Exclusion Program, which allows individuals who have determined they are problem gamblers to exclude themselves from Illinois casinos.

AG RAOUL OPPOSES PROPOSED EPA EMISSIONS CHANGE

Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul joined a multi-state comment letter opposing the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s proposal to loosen regulations that control the emissions of nitrogen oxides from heavy-duty vehicles.

Raoul and the coalition said the EPA should withdraw its proposal because it fails to comply with Clean Air Act requirements.

MAN SENTENCED FOR DISTRIBUTING SYNTHETIC CANNABINOIDS TO INMATES

A suburban Chicago man has been sentenced to four years in federal prison for distributing synthetic cannabinoids to prison and jail inmates.

Prosecutors said Denis Joiner, 33, of Lansing disguised cannabinoid-soaked paper and books as inmate reading material or legal documents and mailed them to customers in federal and state correctional institutions in the Chicago area and across the country.
