Joliet Police Employees Placed on Leave Amid Investigation

Joliet, IL – The Joliet Police Department has placed a sworn officer and a public safety dispatcher on paid administrative leave. The decision follows serious allegations regarding the unauthorized use of Flock Safety technology by the two staff members.

According to the Joliet Police Department, the matter has been formally referred to the City of Joliet Inspector General and the Illinois State Police. Both agencies are now conducting an independent investigation into the alleged misconduct involving the department's surveillance equipment.

The department has not released further details regarding the nature of the alleged misuse. The employees remain on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the state and local inquiries.
