Pittsburgh, PA – A new round of widespread snow is set to move into western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio, and northern West Virginia late Wednesday night, bringing potentially hazardous road conditions through Thursday.
According to the National Weather Service Pittsburgh, snowfall will begin lightly but could intensify into convective snow showers by Thursday afternoon, reducing visibility and causing quick accumulations on roadways. Travel conditions could be especially difficult during the morning and evening commutes.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the ridges of western Pennsylvania from 7 a.m. Thursday to 7 a.m. Friday, with 3 to 5 inches of snow expected. Additional areas may be added in future updates.
Additionally, a Cold Weather Advisory has been issued for eastern Tucker County, WV, from 7 a.m. Thursday to 10 a.m. Friday, with wind chills as low as -15°F.
