Omaha, NE – Brutal cold continues across eastern Nebraska and western Iowa as an Extreme Cold Warning remains in effect from 9 p.m. Wednesday through 9 a.m. Thursday. Wind chills could reach -35°F, increasing the risk of frostbite within minutes.

According to the National Weather Service, dangerously cold temperatures will persist into Friday, with wind chills between -15°F and -25°F expected Thursday night. A slight warming trend begins Saturday, with highs reaching the 30s by the weekend.

Five-Day Outlook:

Thursday: High of 7°F, mostly sunny, wind chills as low as -29°F.

Friday: Sunny, high of 18°F, winds 10–18 mph.

Saturday: Warmer, high of 32°F, partly sunny.

Sunday: Milder, high near 43°F, mostly sunny.

Monday: Even warmer, high 51°F, gusty winds.
