Detroit, MI – Light snow showers and chilly temperatures will dominate the Detroit area this weekend, with windier conditions starting Monday. Minor accumulations are expected tonight and Sunday, which could cause slick road conditions, particularly on I-75 and surrounding metro roadways.

According to the National Weather Service in Pontiac, temperatures on Sunday will range from a low of 24°F to a high near 28°F, accompanied by dry but cold conditions. Winds will pick up on Monday, gusting as high as 25 mph, and temperatures are expected to climb slightly, with a high of 34°F during the day.

Travelers should exercise caution tonight as scattered snow showers could create reduced visibility and minor road hazards. With temperatures staying below freezing, untreated surfaces may become icy. Monday’s gusty winds could add additional challenges for drivers on elevated highways or bridges.

Looking ahead, the five-day forecast shows mostly dry conditions Tuesday and Wednesday, with highs nearing the mid-30s. A slight chance of isolated snow showers may return Tuesday evening. Thursday is expected to be sunny with highs near 36°F, making it the warmest day of the week.

For those commuting or planning outdoor activities, consider monitoring local weather updates for real-time conditions and road alerts.
