Champaign, IL – A chilly Saturday brings the chance of flurries along I-74 this morning before drier weather settles in. Warmer conditions are expected next week, offering some relief from the below-normal temperatures Central Illinois has experienced recently.

According to the National Weather Service, flurries are likely before noon, with highs reaching 38 degrees today. Winds from the southwest will increase to 11-13 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph. Tonight, expect mostly cloudy skies and a low near 18 degrees.

Sunday promises clearer skies, with partly sunny conditions and a high near 28 degrees. Northwest winds will calm slightly, reaching 7-9 mph. Sunday night temperatures will drop to 17 degrees under partly cloudy skies.

Warmer weather arrives Monday, with sunny skies and a high near 39 degrees. Breezy conditions will persist, with gusts up to 36 mph. By Tuesday, temperatures will climb to 43 degrees under sunny skies, marking a welcome shift to milder conditions.

Residents should stay alert for slick roads today, particularly along I-74, and take precautions while driving. Those planning outdoor activities next week can expect more comfortable conditions, but windy days may impact plans.
