Jamestown, SC – A flood warning for the Santee River near Jamestown remains in effect until Saturday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
The river, which is currently at 10.7 feet as of 9:30 a.m. Thursday, is expected to crest at 11.9 feet early Friday morning. Flood stage is considered 10 feet. Officials predict the river will fall below flood stage by early Saturday.
Minor flooding is ongoing, with impacts primarily affecting dirt logging roads in the area, rendering several of them impassable.
The NWS urges residents and travelers to use caution and avoid flooded roads. Those living or working near the Santee River should monitor conditions closely, as water levels are expected to remain elevated through the weekend.
