Tallahassee, FL – Florida’s capital is bracing for an unusual weather event as an Arctic cold front brings the potential for snow starting Monday night. Temperatures are forecast to plummet, with wind chills dipping into the teens by midweek.

According to the National Weather Service, Monday night will bring a 20% chance of rain mixed with snow. This could increase to a 50% chance of precipitation by Tuesday morning, with low temperatures hovering around 30°F. The heaviest impacts are expected along the I-10 corridor, including Tallahassee and nearby cities.

Before the cold front arrives, the weekend will see mild temperatures with rain likely Saturday and Sunday. Saturday’s high is expected to reach 67°F, with showers and thunderstorms possible before 10 a.m. By Sunday night, the temperature will drop sharply to 27°F, setting the stage for Monday’s icy mix.

Residents should take immediate precautions, such as protecting outdoor plants, pets, and exposed plumbing. Those traveling along I-10 early next week should stay informed of road conditions, as icy patches could develop during the morning commute.

Highs on Tuesday will barely reach 41°F, and wind chill values could make it feel significantly colder. The chill will persist through Thursday, with minimum wind chills as low as 12°F predicted.
