Northern Trinity, CA – A winter weather advisory has been issued for Northern Trinity, including Scott Mountain, beginning Wednesday afternoon. Snow is expected to significantly impact travel in higher elevations.

According to the National Weather Service, snow will start around 4 p.m. Wednesday and continue until 8 a.m. Thursday. Elevations above 3,500 feet could see total accumulations of 5 to 8 inches. Localized areas as low as 3,000 feet may experience up to an inch of snow.

The advisory covers the higher summits along Highway 3, including Scott Mountain. Forecasters warn that travel in these areas could become dangerous due to reduced visibility and icy conditions.
