Kankakee, IL – The United Way of Kankakee & Iroquois Counties is wrapping up its Winter Coat & Glove Drive on Friday. The drive, which began Monday, December 9, is aimed at collecting new or gently used winter clothing for local students in Kankakee School District 111.

According to event organizers, the most-needed items are adult-sized coats and gloves in small, medium, and large sizes. Donations of children’s sizes are also welcome. Public drop-off bins are located at the I-KAN Regional Office at 1 Stuart Drive in Kankakee and Coldwell Banker Realty at 501 N. Kinzie Avenue in Bradley.

If you cannot bring a donation, United Way suggests contributing to their Stable Housing Fund. The fund helps provide housing and shelter services for families in need within the community.

All items collected will be distributed to students enrolled in Kankakee School District 111. Organizers stress the importance of donations in ensuring children have the warmth they need during the harsh winter months.
