Kansas City, MO – Light snow and freezing wind chills are expected across northern Missouri tonight into Wednesday morning, potentially affecting early travel. Most areas will see snow accumulations of less than half an inch, but breezy northwest winds could cause slick roads and reduced visibility.

According to the National Weather Service, snow showers are forecast from late Tuesday night into early Wednesday, with wind gusts reaching up to 35 mph. These conditions will create wind chills ranging from 5 to 15 degrees by Wednesday morning. Drivers should plan extra travel time and be cautious of icy spots, especially on major routes like I-70.

Temperatures on Wednesday will only reach a high of 32 degrees, with sunny skies expected later in the day. Overnight, conditions will stay cold, with lows dipping to 22 degrees. Winds are predicted to ease by Wednesday night.

Looking ahead, Thursday offers some relief with mostly sunny skies and a high of 39 degrees. However, freezing drizzle and rain could move into the region by Friday, making roadways hazardous again. The weekend will see highs near the mid-40s, with mostly sunny skies on Saturday before another cold front moves in next week.

Residents are advised to dress warmly, secure outdoor items, and check weather updates regularly. Slick conditions will likely persist into Wednesday morning, so take precautions before heading out.
