Montgomery County, TN – One Dead in House Fire on Calvert Drive

Montgomery County, TN – A house fire in Montgomery County claimed the life of one person Sunday, according to authorities.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies and emergency services responded to the 900 block of Calvert Drive, where a fire was reported at a residence. Two deputies were first to arrive and attempted to rescue the two individuals reportedly inside the home.

One occupant managed to escape the house, but the second person was unable to make it out and was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials confirmed that next of kin have been notified.

The deputies were evaluated at the scene for heat exposure and smoke inhalation. One of the deputies required further medical treatment and was transported to a hospital.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, and authorities stated that the incident is still under investigation.
