Concord, N.H. – A Bow man faces charges of reckless conduct and driving while intoxicated after allegedly driving the wrong way on two New Hampshire interstates early Sunday morning.

State Police began receiving reports at 12:37 a.m. of a vehicle traveling northbound in the southbound lanes on Interstate 293 near mile marker 7.4 in Manchester. According to authorities, the driver continued into the southbound lanes of Interstate 93 in Hooksett, prompting additional calls to dispatch.

A separate single-vehicle crash occurred south of the Hooksett tolls when another motorist attempted to avoid a head-on collision with the wrong-way driver and veered off the road. The driver involved sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Trooper Joshua Farmer of Troop D successfully stopped the wrong-way vehicle in Concord, where the driver, identified as Brian Kunst, 49, was arrested. Authorities say Kunst was charged with reckless conduct with a deadly weapon and driving while intoxicated following a roadside investigation.

Kunst is being held at the Merrimack County Department of Corrections and is scheduled to appear in Concord District Court on Monday.
