Brainard, NY – Authorities are actively searching for two suspects following an alleged truck theft and subsequent incident involving a New York State Trooper near the Columbia and Rensselaer County line on Sunday.
According to the New York State Police, the suspects allegedly stole a truck in the area of Route 20 and Route 66. As a trooper attempted to approach the vehicle, the suspects reportedly rammed the stolen truck into the trooper’s car before fleeing the scene.
One suspect, captured in surveillance footage, was last seen wearing a black beanie, a dark jacket, and light-colored work boots. The second individual, who has not been pictured, is described as a white male dressed in dark clothing.
Authorities urge anyone with information to contact the New York State Police at 845-677-7300. They have requested that tips not be shared on social media to ensure the investigation remains secure.
Residents in the area are advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.
