Denver, CO – Snow showers have created slick and hazardous road conditions along I-70 near the Eisenhower Tunnel this morning. Travelers heading into the high country should expect delays and challenging conditions, as several inches of snow accumulated overnight in Summit County.
According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, snow showers will taper off throughout the day, but icy patches will persist. Winds could reduce visibility, especially in higher elevations. The Colorado Department of Transportation recommends carrying snow chains and preparing for sudden weather changes.
Tuesday’s high will reach 41°F, with mostly sunny skies by afternoon. Overnight temperatures will drop to 21°F, bringing icy road risks into Wednesday morning.
Looking ahead, Wednesday will bring sunny skies and highs near 53°F. Breezy conditions could persist into Thursday, which is expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 60°F.
