Pueblo, CO – Snow showers are moving east from the Colorado mountains today, bringing cooler temperatures and minor accumulations to higher elevations. Drivers near Highway 50 and I-25 should prepare for slick conditions in the morning before the weather clears this afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, up to two inches of snow could accumulate in mountain areas, while the plains will remain mostly dry. Gusty winds and colder temperatures are expected, with highs reaching just 43 degrees in Pueblo.
By tonight, skies will clear, and temperatures will drop sharply to a low of 16 degrees. Travelers should bundle up and ensure vehicles are winter-ready as frost could form overnight.
The forecast for Wednesday calls for sunshine and slightly warmer temperatures, with a high of 49 degrees. Winds will remain calm, offering a reprieve from today’s breezy conditions. The warming trend continues into Friday, with highs reaching 63 degrees, and Saturday is expected to top out at 65 degrees, under mostly sunny skies.
Residents and travelers are advised to check road conditions before heading into the mountains. Snow is likely to linger on higher-altitude roads, particularly north of Highway 50, throughout the day.
Be sure to dress in layers as temperatures will remain below freezing overnight this week, creating chilly starts to the mornings.
