Tinley Park, IL – Tinley Park is hosting a Recycling Extravaganza and Shredding Event on Saturday, August 24, from 8:00 AM to Noon. The event will take place at the 80th Avenue Train Station’s South Parking Lot, located at 18001 S. 80th Avenue. Residents are encouraged to participate by bringing accepted items such as electronics, clothes, polystyrene foam, and gently worn or new shoes.
According to the event organizers, there are specific fees associated with recycling certain items. Monitors, TVs, and paint are among the items that require a fee, depending on the size and type. Participants can pay by cash or credit card on-site. For convenience, residents are also reminded that the shredding service is limited to three boxes or bags of paper per vehicle.
The event is sponsored by Mayor Michael Glotz and the Tinley Park Village Board, along with support from the Environmental Enhancement Commission and the Lions Club.
