Joliet, IL – A fatal crash between a car and a motorcycle claimed the life of a 19-year-old Joliet resident on Thursday evening. The accident occurred at the intersection of Larkin and Ingalls, where Luke Pruss-Knotts, the motorcyclist, was involved in a collision with a car.
Pruss-Knotts was transported to Ascension St. Joseph’s Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 7:58 p.m. The Will County Coroner, Laurie H. Summers, confirmed his death later that evening.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the crash, with the Joliet Police Department leading the inquiry. Pruss-Knotts was the driver of the motorcycle, and initial reports suggest that the collision occurred under unclear circumstances.
An autopsy was performed on Friday to determine the cause and manner of Pruss-Knotts’ death. The results, along with police and toxicology reports, will contribute to the ongoing investigation.
