Denver, CO – Residents in Colorado should prepare for another round of severe weather today, with the National Weather Service warning of scattered thunderstorms that could bring heavy rain, wind gusts up to 60 mph, and small hail. Although the storms are expected to be less intense and less widespread than in recent days, they still pose significant risks, particularly during the afternoon and evening.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will vary across the region, with highs between 55 to 70 degrees in the mountains, 80 to 90 degrees in urban areas and plains, and 65 to 80 degrees in the foothills. The storms are most likely to hit after 3 p.m., with scattered storms lingering through the evening.

The forecast for the remainder of the week shows calmer weather, with temperatures expected to drop slightly on Thursday, reaching a high of 87 degrees under sunny skies. By Friday, a warming trend will begin, with highs climbing into the mid-90s over the weekend. Clear skies and hot temperatures are expected to persist into next week, with highs in the low 90s.
