Monroe County, MI – The Luna Pier Road bridge over I-75 in Monroe County is set to reopen on Thursday, following extensive renovations by the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT). The bridge’s reopening is part of a larger $126 million investment to rebuild over 4 miles of I-75, including the reconstruction of five bridges and ramp improvements at Otter Creek and Luna Pier roads.
According to MDOT, the project is funded through Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s Rebuilding Michigan program, focusing on essential highway and bridge repairs critical to the state’s economy and infrastructure longevity.
