East Chicago, IN – A 57-year-old man was found shot in the chest Monday night in East Chicago after a ShotSpotter alert detected 23 rounds fired near 4013 Butternut Street.
Police arrived at the scene around 10:31 p.m. and discovered the victim, a local resident, conscious and breathing. He was taken to St. Catherine Hospital in serious but stable condition.
