Paducah, KY – A warming trend is set to hit Paducah and surrounding regions starting Tuesday, bringing temperatures back to seasonable highs of around 90 degrees by Thursday. Southern Illinois and western Kentucky can also expect increasing humidity and frequent thunderstorms as the week progresses.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Paducah, temperatures will stay below normal through Monday, with the highs ranging between 75 and 83 degrees. However, starting Tuesday, both Kentucky and Southern Illinois will experience a sharp rise in temperature, with highs climbing from the mid-80s to low 90s by Thursday. Along with this heat surge, thunderstorms are expected to develop daily from Monday through Friday.
The NWS cautions residents to prepare for possible heavy downpours, gusty winds, and frequent lightning in some storms. As humidity increases, the heat index could make conditions feel even hotter. Temperatures will remain warm during the nights, with lows in the 60s and 70s throughout the week.
