According to the US National Weather Service in La Crosse, the primary threat from these storms will be damaging winds, especially as they shift southeast from central Minnesota into northeast Iowa and southeast Minnesota. The most intense weather is expected between 7 p.m. and 1 a.m.
Meteorologists indicate that while the severe storm risk is highest in southeast Minnesota and northeast Iowa, the strength of these storms as they move further northeast remains uncertain due to a general weakening trend. Nonetheless, residents are advised to stay alert and be prepared for sudden weather changes.
Today’s temperatures will range from 85 to 90 degrees, with heat indices near 100. Tonight, storms are likely to bring damaging winds and heavy rain. By Thursday, temperatures will drop slightly, with a high of 83 degrees and a 60% chance of rain. The weather will remain warm through the weekend, with highs in the mid to upper 80s and clear skies expected on Friday and Saturday.
