Evansville, IN – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Paducah, Kentucky, has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for a small portion of southwest Indiana and southeast Illinois, effective until 4 PM CDT. The primary concern with this late morning and midday round of thunderstorms is damaging winds reaching up to 60 mph, with the potential for large hail up to quarter size.

According to the NWS, the areas under watch include Evansville, Jasper, Mount Vernon, and Olney. Residents are advised to remain indoors and secure outdoor items that could become projectiles in high winds.
