Chicago, IL – Northern Illinois residents should prepare for a humid and stormy week ahead. Starting Sunday, periodic thunderstorms are expected through Wednesday, bringing high temperatures and increased humidity. Highs will gradually climb, reaching around 90 degrees by Tuesday and Wednesday.

According to the US National Weather Service in Chicago, Saturday will see the coolest temperatures, with highs between 83 and 86 degrees. Showers are likely late in the evening. On Sunday, the humidity will rise, with a 40-60% chance of thunderstorms and temperatures ranging from 77 to 81 degrees.

Monday continues the trend with a 30-50% chance of storms and highs between 83 and 88 degrees. The humidity will persist into Tuesday and Wednesday, with storm chances at 30-50% and 20-30%, respectively. Highs on these days will hover between 87 and 92 degrees.

In addition to the storms, humid conditions will dominate the week. This unsettled weather pattern will bring frequent changes, with many dry hours between the storms. Nighttime lows will stay in the upper 60s to low 70s, contributing to the overall muggy feel.
