Omaha, NE – Nebraska is set to experience scorching temperatures next week, with highs potentially reaching 109 degrees. The National Weather Service Omaha/Valley Nebraska reports that hot conditions will persist through midweek, peaking on Tuesday and Wednesday.

According to the NWS, temperatures today will range from 89 to 94 degrees with mostly clear skies. On Sunday, there is a 30% chance of thunderstorms in the evening, with temperatures feeling like 98 to 103 degrees. Monday’s high will feel between 100 and 108 degrees, with actual highs from 92 to 97 degrees.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be the hottest days, with the heat index climbing to 109 degrees. Highs will be in the mid-90s to 100 degrees. Low temperatures will provide little relief, remaining in the upper 60s to low 70s.

Thunderstorms could return by Tuesday and Wednesday evening, with gusty winds as the primary hazard. There is a 25-40% chance of storms on Sunday evening and a 20-35% chance later in the week.
