Joliet, IL – Nineteen-Year-Old Critically Injured in Joliet Township Shooting

Joliet, IL – A 19-year-old man was critically injured in a shooting in unincorporated Joliet on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Will County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the area of Luana Road and Girard Boulevard around 3:45 PM following reports of a shooting. The victim was found lying on the ground outside his vehicle on Girard Boulevard after driving a short distance from the initial shooting location. Deputies provided aid until East Joliet Fire Department personnel arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital in critical condition.

Witnesses reported seeing the suspects fleeing west on Luana Road. Authorities believe the shooting was a targeted attack. A reverse 911 call was issued to Preston Heights residents, advising them to stay indoors and report any suspicious activity. The Will County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate, canvassing the neighborhood and seeking surveillance footage from the area.
