South Bend, IN – A road rage incident on the U.S. 20 bypass Sunday night led to the arrest of a Georgia man and left one person injured, sparking a detailed investigation by local authorities.
South Bend Police reported that officers responded to calls of shots fired near St. Joseph Valley Parkway and Brick Road around 9 p.m. Sunday. During the investigation, officers found a shooting victim in a vehicle just east of Ironwood Drive on the U.S. 20 bypass. The male victim was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Following the investigation, the South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit arrested 48-year-old Kenneth Satterlee of Canton, Georgia, on a preliminary charge of aggravated battery. Satterlee is currently held at the St. Joseph County Jail, awaiting a formal charging decision from the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office.
Initial evidence indicates the shooting may have resulted from a road rage incident on the bypass.
