Peoria, IL – Residents of Central Illinois are advised to prepare for potential thunderstorms on Monday, following a sunny weekend.

The US National Weather Service has forecasted that scattered showers and storms will begin to affect the area by late morning and continue into the evening. These weather conditions are due to a shift in the atmosphere that could lead to rapid weather changes.

While a few spotty showers and storms are also expected on Friday, primarily along and south of I-72, the bulk of the weekend should remain dry except for a stray storm. Citizens are encouraged to stay updated on weather alerts and plan accordingly.
