Lombard, IL – Village Board Decides Against Gaza Ceasefire Resolution

Lombard, IL – The Village of Lombard has decided not to place a formal ceasefire resolution regarding Gaza on its agenda for consideration. 

According to Village officials in a statement Thursday, the decision follows extensive dialogue with community members over the past two months concerning the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Despite the board’s decision, a formal Statement in Response to the Ongoing Conflict and Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza has been issued to clarify the Village’s stance and intentions.

According to the Village, the discussions at recent board meetings highlighted the deep impact of the Gaza conflict on Lombard residents, enhancing the board’s understanding of the community’s concerns. While emphasizing its commitment to local governance and community issues, the Village also pledged to continue advocating for Lombard’s interests with Congressional officials. The Village reassured residents that their voices have been heard and valued, despite the decision against a formal ceasefire resolution.
