Kankakee, IL – Students considering their next step after high school or planning a college transfer will have an opportunity to meet representatives from more than 50 colleges and universities during an upcoming fair in Kankakee.
According to Kankakee Community College, its College and Transfer Fair will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, at the KCC College Center, 100 College Drive. Current college students, high school students, families and members of the public are invited.
Representatives from public and private universities across Illinois are expected to attend, along with several out-of-state schools.
Illinois public universities scheduled to participate include the University of Illinois campuses in Chicago, Springfield and Urbana-Champaign, as well as Illinois State University, Northern Illinois University, Eastern Illinois University and Southern Illinois University campuses in Carbondale and Edwardsville.
Private Illinois institutions expected at the event include Olivet Nazarene University, University of St. Francis, North Central College, Augustana College, Benedictine University and Roosevelt University.
Students interested in leaving Illinois for college will also have options to explore. Purdue University, Ball State University, Ferris State University, Grand Canyon University, Saint Mary’s College and the University of Wisconsin-Platteville are among the out-of-state institutions expected to participate.
KCC will also operate its own booth during the fair, giving visitors an opportunity to learn about local degree and certificate programs as well as options designed for students who plan to transfer to four-year institutions.
Information about the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, commonly known as FAFSA, and the financial aid process will also be available.
The fair will take place inside the KCC College Center near the college’s main entrance.
