Baltimore, Maryland – Comfortable summer weather will continue across Maryland, northern Virginia, eastern West Virginia and the District of Columbia on Saturday before a gradual warming trend brings back afternoon thunderstorms to start the new week.
According to the National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington, dry air and high pressure will keep conditions pleasant through Saturday with highs ranging from 70 to 83 degrees and overnight lows dipping into the upper 50s and 60s. Southeast winds will remain light at 5 to 10 mph, making for favorable conditions for outdoor activities.
By Sunday, temperatures will begin climbing into the mid-70s to upper 80s, with isolated afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms developing across the region. Cities including Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Frederick, Hagerstown, Winchester and Martinsburg could see brief downpours and lightning, although much of the day should remain dry.
The warming trend continues Monday as highs reach 77 to 91 degrees. Another round of scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms is possible as moisture increases ahead of a stronger frontal boundary expected to approach the region by Tuesday.
