Kansas City, Missouri – Easter Sunday travel across the Kansas City metro and surrounding Kansas-Missouri region is expected to remain smooth, with near-normal temperatures and only minimal rain briefly impacting early holiday plans.
According to the National Weather Service, a stable pattern will hold across the central Plains through Wednesday night, keeping precipitation near to slightly below normal. Cities including Kansas City, Overland Park, Olathe, and Independence may see isolated light showers early Sunday between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m., but most of the day will remain dry.
Major routes such as I-70, I-35, and I-435 are expected to stay in good condition, with only brief wet pavement possible during passing showers. Visibility concerns are expected to remain limited, and no widespread travel disruptions are anticipated.
Temperatures will remain close to seasonal averages, providing comfortable conditions for Easter gatherings, outdoor church services, and egg hunts. Morning hours may feel slightly cool, but afternoon readings will support extended outdoor plans across the metro.
Communities across Lawrence, Topeka, and Columbia will also see extended dry periods through the holiday weekend and into early next week.
This quiet pattern continues through midweek, with only occasional light rain chances returning and no major advisories expected at this time.
