Nashville, Tennessee – A stretch of warm spring weather is settling into Middle Tennessee, but increasing rain and storm chances beginning Wednesday could interrupt outdoor plans through the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Nashville, dry and mild conditions will hold through Tuesday with highs reaching into the low 80s. Rain chances begin to climb Wednesday afternoon, with scattered thunderstorms developing and continuing in waves through at least Sunday.

The highest storm coverage is expected Friday through Saturday, when rain chances reach 40 to 60 percent across Nashville, Murfreesboro, Clarksville, and surrounding areas. While widespread severe weather is not expected at this time, periods of heavier rain and lightning could impact travel along I-40, I-65, and I-24, especially during afternoon and evening hours.

Temperatures will remain above average through the week, with highs consistently in the upper 70s to mid-80s before a cooler trend arrives by Sunday, when highs drop into the low 60s.

Residents should plan for intermittent wet conditions, keep devices charged for possible lightning-related outages, and monitor updates if stronger storms develop later in the week.

Rain chances persist through the weekend, and additional updates may be issued as storm timing becomes clearer.
