Bath, NH – A Bath man is facing multiple felony charges after New Hampshire State Police say he allegedly assaulted another man with a blunt object Thursday night, leaving the victim with serious injuries that required an airlift to a trauma center.

According to the New Hampshire State Police, troopers responded around 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2026, after receiving a 911 report of an assault at a residence in Bath. Callers reported that a man was actively assaulting another man with a blunt object.

Before troopers arrived, authorities said the alleged suspect left the home in a vehicle. Troopers later located the vehicle traveling south on Route 10 in Haverhill and conducted a traffic stop.

Following an investigation, police identified the driver as Alexander Anderson, 25, of Bath, and took him into custody.

According to state police, Anderson has been charged with first-degree assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, criminal threatening with a deadly weapon, and domestic violence for obstructing the report of a crime or injury. The charges are allegations, and Anderson is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

The victim was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital before being airlifted to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center because of the severity of his injuries, police said.

A portion of Wild Ammonoosuc Road was temporarily closed while investigators processed the scene.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper Shawn Slaney at (603) 846-3333 or Shawn.B.Slaney@dos.nh.gov.
