Indianapolis, IN – Dry roads and mild temperatures today will give way to daily rain chances starting Tuesday, with the heaviest impacts expected by midweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, highs will climb into the mid-70s Monday under dry conditions before a more active pattern develops. Rain chances begin Tuesday at around 20%, then surge to near 80% by Wednesday as a stronger system moves into the region.

Central Indiana, including Indianapolis, Carmel, and Bloomington, will see temperatures peak between 78 and 82 degrees Tuesday before dropping sharply into the upper 50s to mid-70s Wednesday and Thursday. That shift will bring more widespread showers and possible thunderstorms, especially along the I-65 and I-70 corridors during afternoon and evening commutes.

Drivers should prepare for changing conditions, including reduced visibility and slick roads during heavier showers. Residents are encouraged to keep devices charged and monitor updates as storms develop.

Rain chances remain elevated through Thursday and Friday, keeping conditions unsettled across much of the state.
