Richmond, VA – Warm air surging into Virginia will push temperatures into the 80s starting Tuesday, with shifting conditions bringing scattered rain chances by midweek.

According to the National Weather Service in Wakefield, light showers early Monday will give way to partly cloudy skies, followed by a stretch of well above normal temperatures through Friday. Afternoon breezes will develop daily, adding to dry and warm conditions early in the week.

Highs will reach between 75 and 82 degrees Tuesday, then climb into the upper 70s to mid-80s Wednesday across central and eastern Virginia, including Richmond, Norfolk, and Newport News. While much of Tuesday remains dry, rain and storm chances begin to increase Wednesday afternoon, especially across northwest portions of the region.

By Thursday, conditions turn mostly dry again with continued warmth, but scattered rain chances return Friday and could linger into the weekend, potentially affecting outdoor plans across Hampton Roads and the I-95 corridor.

Residents should stay hydrated during the warmer afternoons and remain alert for changing conditions midweek. Those with outdoor plans should monitor updates as rain chances increase.

Additional updates are expected as the midweek pattern develops.
