Lake Geneva, WI – Comedy fans will have a chance to see one of the nation’s most recognizable stand-up performers when Paula Poundstone takes the stage in Lake Geneva on Saturday, June 6.
According to Geneva Stage, the longtime comedian and NPR personality will perform a one-night-only show at the downtown Lake Geneva venue. The event is being presented by Kickstand Productions.
Poundstone is known for her quick improvisational style, audience interaction and observational humor that has earned her a devoted following across the country. She first gained national attention through a series of HBO comedy specials in the late 1980s and later became widely recognized for her television appearances, including political commentary during the 1992 presidential election.
Today, Poundstone continues to perform nationwide while hosting the popular podcast Nobody Listens to Paula Poundstone. She is also a longtime panelist on NPR’s Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me! and previously appeared regularly on A Prairie Home Companion.
“Paula Poundstone is truly one of the great voices in comedy,” Geneva Stage representatives said in a statement. “Her ability to connect with audiences through improvisation and storytelling creates a completely unique experience.”
The performance will be held at Geneva Stage, a live entertainment venue that regularly hosts touring musicians, comedians and special events throughout the year.
Tickets are currently available, with front section seating priced at $65 and middle section seating available for $45.
Geneva Stage is located in Lake Geneva, one of Wisconsin’s most popular tourism destinations, attracting visitors from throughout southeastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois.
