Peoria, IL Woman Arrested After Stabbing Investigation Thursday

Peoria, IL – A Peoria woman was arrested Thursday morning following a stabbing investigation that began after a victim arrived at a local hospital with injuries, according to police.

According to the Peoria Police Department, officers responded around 4:54 a.m. Thursday to a local hospital after receiving reports of a stabbing victim who had arrived by private vehicle.

Police said officers met with a 32-year-old man suffering from a non-life-threatening stab wound. Detectives then launched an investigation and responded to the location where the stabbing was believed to have occurred. Officers searched the surrounding area but initially did not locate a suspect.

At approximately 9:40 a.m., Peoria detectives located a female suspect connected to the investigation in the 1600 block of West Lincoln Avenue.

Authorities identified the suspect as 45-year-old Gloria J. Behm. She was transported to the Peoria Police Department for questioning.

Following the interview, Behm was arrested on allegations of aggravated battery as well as multiple active warrants. She was later transported to the Peoria County Jail.

Police have not released additional information regarding what led to the stabbing or the relationship between the suspect and victim.
