Bourbonnais, IL – Families across Kankakee County are invited to celebrate the start of summer during Bourbonnais Township Park District’s annual Family Night Out on Friday, May 29, at Perry Farm Park.

The event will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and feature a wide range of family-friendly attractions, including inflatables, carnival games, carriage rides, live entertainment, food vendors, and hands-on activities throughout the park. Admission is $10 per carload or walking group.

According to the Bourbonnais Township Park District, more than 1,200 people attended last year’s event. Organizers said this year’s celebration will include a new 9-hole mini golf course alongside returning attractions such as barrel train rides, face painting, bounce houses, obstacle courses, challenge games, and a large inflatable corn maze.

Live entertainment will feature The Willows, a Chicagoland band returning for its third consecutive year at the event. The group will perform current hit songs from the park gazebo throughout the evening.

Food trucks and specialty vendors scheduled for the event include Joey’s Red Hots, Candy & Cakes, caricature artists, and the Teddy Mountain stuffing machine offering plush animal creations.

“Family Night Out is all about kicking off summer together as a community and giving families a fun evening outdoors at Perry Farm Park,” Executive Director Mike O’Shea said in a statement.

Community groups participating in the event include the River Valley Special Recreation Association, Scouting America, and Girl Scouts.

Officials recommend bringing cash for admission and vendor purchases. Additional event details are available at btpd.org/familynightout.
