Winnipeg, Manitoba – Four individuals were taken into custody this week after Winnipeg police executed search warrants in the Roslyn neighborhood, uncovering drugs, a firearm and cash tied to an alleged trafficking operation.
According to the Winnipeg Police Service, the Guns and Gangs Unit carried out the warrants Wednesday with assistance from multiple units, including the Tactical Support Team and Community Support Units. Authorities said the investigation began earlier in March, focusing on alleged drug trafficking at a residence in the 100 block of Roslyn Road.
Police reported that during the search, officers allegedly located a loaded Smith & Wesson .40-caliber handgun, ammunition and a range of illicit substances. The seizure included approximately 746 grams of heroin, 367 grams of cocaine, 396 grams of fentanyl and 67 grams of methamphetamine, along with more than $1,200 in Canadian currency. Investigators also reported finding scales and packaging materials commonly associated with drug distribution.
Officials said a 37-year-old man was arrested and is facing numerous charges, including allegedly possessing a firearm without authorization, multiple counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime. He is also accused of violating prior court orders and warrants.
A 36-year-old woman was also arrested and is facing several charges related to allegedly possessing controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking, according to police.
Authorities stated that less-lethal chemical agents were used during the execution of the warrants, though no serious injuries were reported.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police indicated additional charges or arrests could follow as the case develops.
