Crossville, TN – A teacher at Cumberland County High School has been suspended while law enforcement investigates allegations involving inappropriate communication with students, according to a joint statement released Friday.

The joint press release was issued May 15, 2026, by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, Crossville Police Department, and Cumberland County Schools.

According to officials, investigators with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and Crossville Police Department responded to Cumberland County High School on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, regarding allegations involving a teacher and inappropriate communications with students.

Authorities said the teacher was immediately placed on suspension and an active investigation was launched. Officials have not released the teacher’s name or provided details regarding the nature of the alleged communications.

Law enforcement agencies stated no additional information will be released at this time while investigators complete their work and consult with the District Attorney’s Office.
